NRA grants provide new shooting sports, archery, and safety equipment
Since 2023, the NRA Foundation has awarded our troop with equipment grants to augment our ability to host safe firearms training and safety classes. The grants provide shooting sports, archery, and safety equipment.
These grants enable us to offer enhanced marksmanship opportunities as part of a comprehensive Scouting program. The NRA is making an investment in our community by providing new safety gear, ammunition, and equipment. Troop 396 and Crew 396 offers shooting sports and archery as part of its character-building Scouting programs. In addition to education and safety training, Scouts participate in shooting sports and archery experiences at troop-led camps, day camps, and weekend events.
Scouting teaches life lessons centered on character, fitness, citizenship, and leadership development. Through Troop 396’s shooting sports and archery programs, youth learn safe and responsible handling of firearms, marksmanship and discipline, leadership and citizenship, appreciation of nature and natural resources, conservation ethics, and, for many, a lifelong hobby.
